What Software Am I Authorized To Get?
Anyone who attempts to order or download software not listed for their current course may have their ELMS account deactivated and no longer be able to participate through this license program.
Regardless of whatever software you may see featured in the ELMS store front, you are eligible only for the software products that have been authorized for a class in which you are "currently participating for credit". ELMS login accounts will only be active for several weeks during the beginning of each semester. Decide early if you want to use the Software Center and then purchase or download software as soon as possible.
Select the course(s) in which you are participating under Course-Software List below to see what software has been authorized for that course.
You are responsible for adhering to these restrictions. Also, read Check Hardware/Software Requirements (below) to find out if your computer and operating system will support these products.
Operating Systems
This license provides an operating system only to support software development using other products obtained through this license; You are not entitled to upgrade your operating system for any other reason. You may be eligible for an operating system (below), but only if you meet BOTH of the following requirements:
- You are ordering one of the other software products through the MSDNAA license
-AND-
- Your current operating system does not already support that software product
If you meet both eligibility requirements then you may choose to get an operating system.
Check Hardware/Software Requirements
Click a software title after selecting a course from the Course-Software List (above) to review hardware and software requirements for that product. Also, if eligible for and installing an operating system as an upgrade, be sure to check the Windows XP Requirements and Windows XP Upgrade Path
to see if your system and current version of Windows can support and be upgraded to the new operating system. If an upgrade is not supported, you will need to consider a clean install or dual-boot option (check the product readme files).
How Do I Get Software?
You must be "currently participating for credit" in one of the courses listed under the Course-Software List (above); Only then are you eligible to get software authorized for that course using one of the Software Availability Options (below). There are three options listed under 2 general categories: (1) use the Software Center (ELMS) or, (2) use the Library Checkout. See Software Tips for help about which option might be best for you. ELMS login accounts will only be active for several weeks during the beginning of each semester and will be coordinated through the instructor for each class in which you qualify.
